The bug forwarded to gnome upstream ( http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=562974 ) has just been closed for that reason - along with a request for the bug to be forwarded to the freedesktop bugzilla. I'm complaining about two things. Firstly that copy and paste doesn't work which seems to be bug http://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=7002 "Text extraction should expand ligatures to their normal form" I'm also complaining that the ligatures are not displayed.
