Why would they run on the same machine? Ideally HA setups should cope with hardware failures too and as such I don't see how running two instances on the same host help. Or do you have two separate databases running on 2 hosts and each host is also configured as backup for the other one? Anyway, if a fix is ready in time for Lenny, you can ask the judgment of RM but I suspect that fixing this will be r1 material probably.
