Package: hotplug Version: 0.0.20040329-22 Severity: normal (This bug report is not done on the system on which it was occured)
Hi all, So here my configuration / explanation : I run the 2.6.11 version of the debian kernel (at least the sources comes from the debian project). My root system is on an usb device (a card reader/CF). When I try to plug a usbnet cable, the hotplug detect the event, and rescan the whole bus (at least this is what I understand). But when the root FS was on /dev/sda1, just after the plug it is set on /dev/sdb1 ... Of course the kernel is very unhappy :/. I try to find a wa, but get no real idea ... I guess that the good way to do it should be to not 'rescan' the whole system in the case of a debian system beeing on an usb root FS. I should be able to help a minima at your request.
