They are already built with your current package setup. Run
dpkg-buildpackage and then look in the authlib directory. You will find a
number of libauth*.a files.

However, I have run further tests with this package, and I discovered
that in order to build properly I also need the *.a files from the
following directories:

authlib/  gdbmobj/  libhmac/  md5/  numlib/  sha1/  soxwrap/  userdb/

I suspect that the best thing to do would be to create a courier-dev
package that contained all of the *.a files in courier, as they all might
potentially be needed by different courier addons.
