Running "make-kpkg buildpackage" in the 2.6.28.4 Git directory as root eventually yields dpkg-deb: building package `linux-headers-2.6.28.4' in `../linux-headers-2.6.28.4_2.6.28.4-10.00.Custom_i386.deb'. dpkg-deb: control directory has bad permissions 2755 (must be >=0755 and <=0775) and then fails out.
