mentioned there? What about
apt-cache -n search texinfo
or similar commands? Nowadays, having the documentation in non-free is
so common that we have so far not considered it necessary to add it in
each case. Should we?
In this case I think so. As a new user the knowledge that documentation
is often split into non-free may not exist. Post install I didn't have
non-free in my sources.list so an apt search was fruitless. Combine this
with the fact that one of the very first things a new user will (should)
try to do is learn how to use the documentation system, I believe
putting a pointer to that documentation it in the doc directory is
sensible.
