Package: aptitude Version: 0.4.11.11-1 Severity: normal This is just bug in display of ``action'' flag when dwngrading. Here is exact method to reproduce.
It is still just after lenny release and I wanted to check newer version of perl script "po4a" in experimental on lenny system with following /etc/apt/sources.list: deb http://cdn.debian.or.jp/debian/ lenny main contrib non-free deb http://cdn.debian.or.jp/debian/ experimental main contrib non-free after I do u and see under po4a for its information at the bottom: --- --\ Versions of po4a (2) i 0.34-2 p 0.35-1 --- This is good since 0.35-1 is in experimental and its default pin is 1 since its archive is marked as NotAutomatic archive and APT system understand it. Then I press + on 0.35-1 to test it. --- id 0.34-2 -1901kB *** in purple pi 0.35-1 +2019kB *** in green --- I ger right * ``current state'' flag * ``action'' flag * color pressing g get it upgrade to 0.35-1. good. --- ... Preparing to replace po4a 0.34-2 (using .../archives/po4a_0.35-1_all.deb) ... Unpacking replacement po4a ... Processing triggers for man-db ... Setting up po4a (0.35-1) ... Press return to continue. --- I see under po4a for its information at the bottom: --- p 0.34-2 i 0.35-1 --- This is good too. Pressing + on 0.34-2 causes --- p 0.34-2 +1901kB *** in green i 0.35-1 -2019kB *** in purple --- Hmmmm... problem. I ger right * ``current state'' flag * color but * ``action'' flag is missing. pressing g will get me downgrade with right package. --- dpkg - warning: downgrading po4a from 0.35-1 to 0.34-2. --- Thus this is just bug in display of ``action'' flag Thanks for hard work of maintaining aptitude. -- Package-specific info: aptitude 0.4.11.11 compiled at Nov 20 2008 05:11:32 Compiler: g++ 4.3.2 Compiled against: apt version 4.6.0 NCurses version 5.7 libsigc++ version: 2.0.18 Ept support enabled.
