Furthermore I get a dialog box: "An error occurred while loading or saving configuration information for Text Editor. Some of your configuration settings may not work properly. See http://www.gnome.org/projects/gconf/ for information. (Details - 1: Failed to get connection to session: Did not receive a reply. (last line repeats multiple times) I cannot use the gedit preferences (everything greyed out) and when saving a text file, the dialog box appears again.
