not only lvm should run after multipath, but also mdadm as it is common to mirror some SAN devices via mdadm as it is much cheaper than buying this solution in hardware. So mdadm/mdrun need multipath as PREREQ, too. The right order at boot is mulipath - mdadm - lvm in my opinion. I think this should be fixed in lenny+1, too.
