i've got the very same problem here on a system that was upgraded to lenny today. the amanda config has not been modified.
it seems to me after some digging through the upstream message archives
that this is an ipv6 issue: amanda in 2.5.2 seems to insist on ipv6.
my box has no ipv6 support, and the amcheck debug log contains the following
---
amcheck-clients: time 0.111: (sockaddr_in6 *)0x336b8 = { 10, 10080,
::ffff:192.168.200.2 }
amcheck-clients: time 0.111: dgram_send_addr: 0xf7ebd6ac->socket = 0
amcheck-clients: time 0.111: dgram_send_addr:
sendto(::ffff:192.168.200.2.10080) failed: Socket operation on non-socket
amcheck-clients: time 0.111: security_seterror(handle=0x33698,
driver=0xf7eaa0e4 (BSD) error=send REQ to otherbox failed: Socket operation on
non-socket)
---
quite annoying - especially as the only known workarounds seem to
be to either recompile with --without-ipv6 or setup a kernel that has ipv6.
regards
