I have 256MB RAM in server.

...:~$ free
total used free shared buffers cached
Mem: 255188 251640 3548 0 2696 86364
-/+ buffers/cache: 162580 92608
Swap: 265032 181032 84000

...:~$ cat /etc/apt/sources.list
deb http://ftp.se.debian.org/debian/ stable main contrib non-free
deb-src http://ftp.se.debian.org/debian/ stable main contrib non-free
deb http://security.debian.org/ stable/updates main contrib non-free
# Volatile
deb http://volatile.debian.org/debian-volatile stable/volatile main
contrib non-free

Maybe I should update RAM or start using aptitude instead :-)

RAM usage just before I select option 3 in dselect.
...:~$ free
total used free shared buffers cached
Mem: 255188 250940 4248 0 544 35740
-/+ buffers/cache: 214656 40532
Swap: 265032 264928 104

Seams like 256MB RAM is to little for a Debian 5.0 server now,
if you would like to use dselect.

Torben
