Sorry, I totally forgot that Totem could use the Xine backend. I'm using Totem-gstreamer though. I don't know any other gstreamer video player, but I will search and try as you say. > so this is (most probably) not a bug in libavcodec52. Not so sure about this one. As I said the problem occured when libavformat52 and libavutil49 were updated. This is when libavcodec52 and libschroedinger-1.0-0 were also automatically installed as dependecies. So it should be one of these packages that is causing the bug. > interesting. can you perhaps try other media players as well? This might > help to reassign this bug to the correct package. I'll try to find other gstreamers media players and keep you informed. > sorry, no. that link contains a text file with the following content: > >>> cat valkyrie-1st5m_h.480.mov > SmoovKrmraCrmda+rdrfurl valkyrie-1st5m_h480.mov > > what am I supposed to do with that? Strange, this should be a Quicktime file, and it plays fine under Totem-gstreamer on my machine. I didn't download it though, just opened the link directly in Totem. I will try do to more tests as soon as I can, and update this report with the results.
