/usr/lib64/xen/bin/qemu-dm.debug That's not where the debian package puts qemu-dm.debug, but in /usr/lib/xen-defaults/bin/qemu-dm.debug You probably have a mix of hand-installed xen and debian-installed xen. Does your configuration file set the device_model? It looks like the default debian ones erroneously do point to the former path, which is wrong, it should be the latter.
