Package: glipper Version: 1.0-1+b1 Severity: normal
See http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=516805 Glipper's clipboard behavior is how a "normal" desktop system works, which preserves the contents of the buffer as long as the window system is running, regardless of which applications and windows are opened and closed. xclipboard behavior (which is what copy/paste normally use, right?) does not preserve copied text after the source application quits. A bug filed on xclipboard was closed with the explanation "this is how X works." Well, maybe how X works ought to change, or maybe Gnome should be a grown up desktop and use a copy/paste mechanism that works like commercial desktops.
