Package: dpkg-dev
Version: 1.14.25
Severity: wishlist

Symbol files currently allow to dynamically replace #MINVER# by a
version check. The same way, it would be nice to have #PACKAGE# or
something like that is dynamically replaced by the name of the package.
This would provide a way to simplify symbol files when the name of the
library depends on the architecture.
