It features a lot of improvements: new audio panel with new filters, new video filters, new and improved audio capture format, experimental support for gspca devices, new icon set, improved auto-focus for software-driven AF systems, improved French translation (and maybe others, I have only contributed to this one !)... It builds nicely on Squeeze amd64. Thanks for bringing this fine piece of software to Debian.
