Hello,
I regularly copy files with names like "IN.DEBIAN-user-german"
to a floppy disk using mcopy, and it used to store these names
as long file names without changing them.
This behaviour has changed since the last update (to version
4.0.4-1, see above). What now happens is the following:
,-----[ Terminal
]----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
| ~ > ls -al
| insgesamt 264

When mounting the floppy and using a "normal" "ls -l"
I get the following:
,-----[ Terminal ]---------------------------------------------------
| ~ > mount /floppy
| ~ > ls -l /floppy
| insgesamt 238
| -rw-r----- 1 petra petra 1493 4. Mär 09:22 Warte_auf_Antwort

| -rw-r----- 1 petra petra 21777 4. Mär 10:02 in.tex

That is, the long file names are lost and I am unable to restore
them automatically when copying the files to another machine.
However, I am able to change the filenames using a normal "mv" on
the mounted floppy. Umounting the floppy and listing the contents
via "mdir" then gives:
,-----[ Terminal ]--------------------------------------------------
| ~ > mdir
| Volume in drive A has no label
| Directory for A:/
|
| IN~1 TEX 21777 2009-03-04 10:02 IN.TEX-D-L

So nothing really basic seems to be in the way of a correct
behaviour ...
It would be nice if something could be done to restore the old
functionality.
Thanks in advance!
Petra
