Hi,
I'm sorry if my bugreport maybe misleading and/or filed to the wrong package.
Since yesterday
upgrade in Unstable I've found that suddenly I was unable to connect to my
wireless AP at home.
After a little time spent digging I have finally discovered that the regdom
inside cfg80211 is not
anymore set to EU, but US and my AP uses channel 13.
This is an old problem solved at a certain point of the developing of iwl3945
and the wireless stack
in the Linux kernel, setting the proper regdom using a module option inside
/etc/modprobe.d/cfg80211. Some time after it was not needed any more to specify
the regdom in that
way and at boot time cfg80211 was supposed to find automatically this
parameter. Indeed it worked in
this way until yesterday.
Since the kernel and everything related to it it's still the same as it was 10
days ago, I consider
module-init-tools to be responsible for this regression. Maybe I'm wrong, so I
apologize in advance.
At the moment I have two options: 1)modify the AP and select another channel;
2) specify the regdom
in some way given that /etc/modprobe.d/ will be removed sometime soon (as told
in bug #517954).
Ciao
Valerio
