Hi! We seem to be carrying this problem for a long time, I just found it when upgrading some systems from Etch to Lenny, so it seems that the problem is even easier to reproduce now on Lennny, as I wasn't having it on Etch and I now have it on Lenny (I only did a dist-upgrade). My problem seems to be with having the serial console as the main console.
I was wondering if we should mix all this bugs and probably give this bug a higher importance, as having the system hang on the startup seems a huge problem to me. I have found a way around the bug by installing kbd instead of console-tools, but I really believe we should fix this. I can provide more info on my case if needed, but I think current bugreports already provide a lot of info and there are some patches as well.
