Package: approx Version: 3.5-1 Severity: wishlist The deb import script from apt-cacher, when importing debs, first tries to make a hardlink (see `man ln`), and only if that fails, creates a regular file copy. As a result, it is very impressive to see, that even though an import of over 60 thousands of packages has completed, the amount of free disk space did not reduce at all.
It would be very nice to have such optimization in approx-import as well. --- System information. --- Architecture: amd64 Kernel: Linux 2.6.28-rm Debian Release: 5.0 500 stable apt-proxy.i4 --- Package information. --- Depends (Version) | Installed ========================-+-============ libc6 (>= 2.7-1) | 2.7-18 libpcre3 (>= 7.7) | 7.8-2 libwrap0 (>= 7.6-4~) | 7.6.q-16 lsb-base (>= 3.1) | 3.2-20 adduser | 3.110 bzip2 | 1.0.5-1 curl | 7.18.2-8 -- With respect, Roman -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
