This has been done with the goal to homogenize shortcuts in applications
using tabs.

Setting the keybindings for switching tabs is now done at the GTK+
level, and they will affect gedit and epiphany the same way. You can do
that in your .gtkrc-2.0 file. Please have a look at the GTK+ reference
(in devhelp), section “Resource Files” for an explanation on how to
achieve that.
