I'm not sure who you're referring to but this kind of whining is
inappropriate in a bug report. Any Debian Developer who is motivated
to fix the problem can offer to do an NMU which I think would not be
resisted.
If you're not a DD you can offer a package for sponsorship and I would
be happy to take a look at it (although I'm not the fastest responder
to email on the planet).
For reference, I am neither the maintainer nor do I have motivation to
fix the graphical gdebi. But I do have interest in the command line
version.
