Same md5sums here: it turns out that I get the problem with the version of fntsample in Lenny (2.8-1) but works fine with the version currently in sid (3.0-3). As I said before I was running tests over all fonts in the debian archive and the problem shows up only with FreeSans.ttf from the gretl-common package.
