Hi, I can confirm the issue. Note that the directory "/root" is just the CWD when calling /etc/init.d/gdm, i.e. on system start, it says "/". Eh. I just tried it again with "bash -x", now it works, and it works again without that, too. Looks like it was fixed in lsb-release 3.2-22, which I was just upgrading to while writing this report.
