severity 520604 minor tag 520604 + pending thanks Ben Finney wrote: > Package: openoffice.org > Version: 1:3.0.1-7 > Severity: normal
No, if it's a bug at all - it's minor. Or even wishlist. Not every bogus tag of lintian makes sense... > According to Lintian, it is best to avoid depending on the Debian > ‘x.y.z-1’ revision of a package, and instead depend on ‘x.y.z’ alone: > > The package declares a build dependency on a version of a package > with a -1 Debian revision such as "libfoo (>= 1.2-1)". If there was an earlier -0.X version of > libfoo that would not satisfy the dependency, use "libfoo (>= > 1.2-1~)" instead. I do not agree with this reasioning at all. Backports are done by me anyway directly out of the debian/rules from sid (LENNY_BACKPORT=y) so there is no backport problem here. Thus I so far just ignored this lintian error. These build-deps are perfectly fine. (Applied anyway, this time even with bzr merge...) René -- .''`.
