Yes that is a nice workaround. However I really think that aptitude should
have a decent exit code. Could you file a bug report about that on aptitude?
Do apt-get have the same problem?
additionally i found that in line 461 cron-apt sends an additional
email insteat of logging to syslog.
This was a real bug in cron-apt. Fixed now.
