Hi Asheesh, This was fixed in nano nearly two years ago. Please do the same in alpine-pico so it doesn't need to conflict nano, as _you_ requested.
If I don't hear from you in a few weeks, I might NMU alpine to get this done, because we've missed a full Debian release.
