After the upgrade from Etch to Lenny I've got the same problem. I can't
see the CPU usage of any single process. Not with top and not with ps
aux as well.

What do yo mean with "reassign 517108 procps"?
Does you mean to reinstall the package with aptitude? That I have done,
but no success so far.
