Should? *If* /someone/ backports the fix to the lenny version of iproute,
we could *ask* the release team *if* they would allow us to update
the Stable/Lenny version.

Broken, no. Some functionality missing, yes.

Personally I'm in doubt if it's worth it. If anyone needs functionality
that is not included in the Lenny version (being tc filter action ipt or
anything else!), then building the sid (or pkg-iproute git repo!) version
on Lenny should work out of the box and would be what I'd recommend.
(If anyone is not comfortable with dpkg-buildpackage, feel free to ask me.)

A complete backport is not suitable to enter the stable release though, as
stable means stable and Debian doesn't accept any *potential* risks of
regressions that "unneccesary" changes means.
