After having forced a user to log out from its session, the timeoutd
daemon crashes so that the user can login back and continue to work as
long as he desires. This bug has been reported in Ubuntu launchpad:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/timeoutd/+bug/165254

and the corresponding patch is available at:

http://launchpadlibrarian.net/18225966/fix_local_x.patch

I applied this patch to the Debian source package and the problem
disappeared. It seems to be due to changes in the utmp structure (this
is the patch author's explanation).
