OK.  That sounds reasonable.  The only thing is, after looking at the
upstream page, that it appears to create a kernel module.  That requires
some special handling and might make it a better candidate for a
separate package.  For example, the smc-ircc module, is that part of
toshsat1800-irdasetup or part of the kernel?

Also, does it work with both 2.6 and 2.4 or only 2.4 kernels?
