Package: memtest86 Version: 3.5-2 Severity: important Memtest86 is malfunctioning on a ia32 (x86) Intel D875PBZ motherboard (chipset i875), with 4GB of ECC SDRAM.
The malfunction was verified by cross-testing with Memtest86+, which doesn't output any errors. Also the box works just fine. The error syndrome is on test 2, Memtest86 starts detecting a *MASSIVE* ammount of errors, to the point of not accepting any user input because it is too busy updating the screen. Hardware reset is required to get out of it. Error mask is 0xffffffa, detects 2 errors on bank 0, then goes wild detecting errors on bank 2. -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (990, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.27.19 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=pt_BR.ISO-8859-1, LC_CTYPE=pt_BR.ISO-8859-1 (charmap=ISO-8859-1) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash memtest86 depends on no packages. memtest86 recommends no packages.
