heimdal's .la files do contain the -lcrypto One way to fix this is for heimdal to add the proper Depends. See #266003. > Any idea why libtool is introducing this additional dependencies? Upstream claims it was needed to build (an unreased version of) m4. I have at various times tried to build m4 for git, but it always failed. I will look into it again.
