Hi all! Just to give you a feedback and a sign of live (I am currently on vacancy): IIRC(!) copying /etc/pamusb.conf from Ubuntu to Lenny did not work because of different UUID / serial.
So there might be really a difference between Lenny and Ubuntu Gutsy in HAL (pointing to HAL was a good idea IMO).
