the bug is also happening with me, i use debian sarge stable 3.1r0a, firefox package is 1.0.4-2. The only extension I have is the brazilian portuguese language pack on mozila-firefox-locale-pt-br version 1.0.4lang20050515-1 I also have installed mozilla-firefox-gnome-support version 1.0.4-2
I can reproduce the bug easily with the following steps: 0) rm -rf ~/.mozilla* ~/.firefox* 1) launch firefox 2) start search by typing ctrl-f 3) typing anything until bar turns red 4) press ESC button to close search 5) ctrl-t to open new tab 6) ctrl-f again to find something else at this point, interface is already locked up. If i move the mouse over the top and bottom parts of the window, they become gray. workaround: when everything is gray, i use ctrl-n to open a new window, and close the old one. it works, until i type ctrl-f to search anything else, which locks up interface again. bug is easy to reproduce, and annoying. if you need anything, screenshot, configuration, feel free to ask me.
