kmail-compose was created first. There the text was rendered crap. Then I save the message, as it is, as a draft. And then I open the draft message. That's what mahabharat-kmail-draft.jpeg is. The email format is plain text by default. I've just verified it. ... And thanks Karunakar. The kmail-compose.jpeg weird rendering is because of auto-spellcheck. As you've mentioned, this could be because of the console font limitation. In apps like gedit, rendering was perfect.
