Hi Patrick, this is a Xorg.0.log where hal has been disabled, i.e. it is not very useful Could you try with a pristine xorg.conf as generated by "dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg). I also find the list of loaded hid modules suspect hid_gaff 2900 0 hid_pl 2996 0 hid_cypress 2340 0 hid_zpff 2652 0 hid_gyration 2196 0 hid_sony 2568 0 hid_ntrig 1744 0 hid_samsung 2112 0 hid_microsoft 3200 0 hid_tmff 3460 0 hid_monterey 2132 0 hid_ezkey 1832 0 hid_apple 5704 0 hid_a4tech 2500 0 hid_logitech 6656 0 ff_memless 4264 5 hid_gaff,hid_pl,hid_zpff,hid_tmff,hid_logitech hid_cherry 2100 0 hid_sunplus 1972 0 hid_petalynx 2468 0 hid_belkin 2284 0 evdev 8160 2 hid_chicony 2004 0 usbhid 29132 5 hid_gaff,hid_pl,hid_zpff,hid_tmff,hid_logitech hid 34260 21 This doesn't look right. Do you have any custom configuration in /etc/modules or /etc/modprobe.d? Michael -- Why is it that all of the instruments seeking intelligent life in the universe are pointed away from Earth?
