This is a dummy package to ease the transition to wodim, the fork of cdrecord. It provides a cdrecord symlink to wodim for compatibility purposes. Please use wodim instead of cdrecord.
...which is a bit confusing. At any rate, I know that without the cdrdao package installed, I cannot select any of the options for burning (eg. simulate, overburning, etc); whereas I can with it installed.

The drive is a Samsung SATA SH-S223F (the device manager says it's an SCSI connection, /dev/scd0), by the way.
