As I understand, clicking on the tray icon when the buddy list is visible can invoke two different behaviours: - If the buddy list isn't fully visible (e.g. covered by other windows) it is moved to the topmost layer in the WM, making me able to see it. - If the buddy list IS already visible, it is minimized to the tray. I have found, that the latter feature is unavailable, when the buddy list is unable to make it self completely visible, either because it's behind "always on top"-windows, or if it's moved partially out of the screen.
