Hello Harri,
This sounds like it might be an issue with JVM libraries. I notice that
you have (3) choices for JRE. Could you test to see if all of them
exhibit the same behavior?
The jabref script will respect the value of JAVA_HOME, so you can invoke
it with:
JAVA_HOME=/usr/lib/jvm/java-6-sun jabref
etc. to test each JRE.
