I think this is caused by the GTK+ upgrade. Now, GtkVBox implements the GtkOrientable interface. Internally, I guess it forces it to GTK_ORIENTATION_VERTICAL, but this must confuse glade which sets it to GTK_ORIENTATION_HORIZONTAL (the default).
