Package: open-vm-tools Version: 2008.11.18-130226-1lenny2 Severity: important
installed open-vm-tools with apt-get install open-vm-tools then ran module-assistant to prepare and build open-vm. modules loaded without issue: lsmod | grep pcnet32 - shows pcnet32 lsmod | grep vm - includes vmxnet ... The problem with this is that transfers are made below 4M/s until pcnet32 is unloaded. ( After it unloads, it gets up to 7M/s -- I suspect that I have a host issue that is limiting bandwith as well... Is there any problem with just blacklisting pcnet32? -- System Information: Debian Release: 5.0.1 APT prefers stable APT policy: (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.26-2-686 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages open-vm-tools depends on: ii libc6 2.7-18 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libdumbnet1 1.8-1.5 A dumb, portable networking librar ii libgcc1 1:4.3.2-1.1 GCC support library ii libicu38 3.8.1-3+lenny1 International Components for Unico ii libstdc++6 4.3.2-1.1 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 ii procps 1:3.2.7-11 /proc file system utilities Versions of packages open-vm-tools recommends: ii ethtool 6+20080913-1 display or change Ethernet device ii open-vm-source 2008.11.18-130226-1lenny2 Source for VMware guest systems dr ii zerofree 1.0.1-1 zero free blocks from ext2/3 file- Versions of packages open-vm-tools suggests: pn open-vm-toolbox <none> (no description available) -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
