The way I look at it, it is a matter of choice.  You prefer postgres and
ampaches lead developer prefers mysql.  

Please leave your political, and flame war invoking statements off the
BTS as this is not the place for them.  You would be better severed by
raising your concerns about mysql on debian-dev
