I tried downgrading gnucash to earlier debian versions, but ran into too many conflicts with other "squeeze" packages to get it to work properly.

However, today I tried again, and this time I used the ubuntu gnucash, and I only needed a small handful of packages to get it all to be happy.

I used:

Ubuntu:
gnucash_2.2.6-2ubuntu5_i386.deb
gnucash-common_2.2.6-2ubuntu5_all.deb
libgoffice-0-6_0.6.6-1ubuntu1_i386.deb
libgoffice-0-6-common_0.6.6-1ubuntu1_all.deb

And from debian unstable:
libgtkhtml3.14-19_3.26.1.1-1_i386.deb

And I can now close all the invoice tabs that have been growing and growing!
