Package: apt Version: 0.7.20.2 Severity: wishlist Hi,
as packages have different names for their changelog-files and its relatively complicated to start a pager for the correct package every time one wants to have a look at the recent changes, apt-cache should provide either a command or an option to the show-command to start a pager with the (uncompressed if necessary) changelog. I know there is apt-listchanges, but it fulfills a slightly different task, as it only displays new entries after a system upgrade. However, I want to be able to view the complete changelog of a package without upgrading my system. apt-listchanges only provides that functionality for .deb-packages, as far as I tried/understood. As apt-cache show displays other information about the given package, I think this is the best place to put such an option.
