Package: lists.debian.org
Severity: wishlist

Name: debian-printing
Rationale:
There are a large number of printing packages in Debian, many of
which are highly integrated, but currently it is common for each
package to be maintained by a unique maintainer. Due to the
difficulties in debugging and fixing problems relating to bugs
in the printing system as a whole, we need a mailing list to
foster better communication between developers, and allow for
co-maintenence of the key parts of the printing infrastructure.
User questions, particularly relating to printing setup and
printing problems, will also be welcome.
 .
This was discussed on debian-devel last week. The CUPS maintainer
and gs-gpl and gs-esp maintainers are also keen to do this.

There will be initially at least six subscribers, and it is
hoped that maintainers of other printing packages will also
 join.

 on topic.
