First off, thanks for the bug report, Rick! Fixed powerpc-utils uploaded.

Please make an effort not to fly off the handle like this, Frans. The bug title 
clearly named powerpc-utils (and even the root cause) as the culprit. 
Reassigning it may be a nuisance but that seems a small price to pay.

Well, if it makes the default installation fail it sure may be seen as 
critical. 
(not for d-i, I agree - but there's always been some confusion as to whether to 
report bugs during installation time against d-i, or the package).
