Hi, I also got this message, and then found a solution here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gthumb/+bug/351122 maybe the original poster can confim that fixes the problem for him as well? Briefly, the device is locked because the camera is mounted by gvfs-gphoto2, and the command in /usr/share/applications/gthumb-import.desktop assumes you have gvfs-mount installed to umount the camera before importing. Installing the gvfs-bin package fixed the issue for me, so we come to the Subject :), what about Recommending gvfs-bin as suggested in the ubuntu bug thread by Martin-Éric Racine?
