Interesting. i3lock -d emulates the behaviour of slock, so I’m a bit puzzled about why this happens or if your problems with kvm are really related to i3lock.
Can you please try to reproduce this with kvm from unstable instead of experimental? If you can reproduce it, please tell me exactly which commands you issued.
