I didn't know about the shift-scroll combination - it works. I think that when there is a horizontal scroll bar but no vertical scroll bar the shift key should be optional. Sometimes I can observe also the following strange behaviour in some of the Viewers: when I roll the mouse whell over the file path, the file path moves slightly up-down despite that there is no vertical scroll bar.
